Math

Hello,

Last week for math we had to plan a trip somewhere over the world or it could be two or more places. I was paired up with Sovarne. We both decided to travel to Las Angeles. The main goal was to plan the trip and all the costs but of course we couldn’t book anything in advance.

This is my crate task for math this week.

I hope you like it!

Where would you like to go on a trip?

Amazing Advent✨

Hello,

Welcome back to my blog this week we have been learning about advent. Advent is all about the lead up to Christmas, Christmas is one of the most important days of the Catholic church’s Year. Also many people think Christmas is all about Santa and Presents but this is not true, it is actually all about the birth of Jesus Christ.

For our crates this week we have needed to write on a Google Drawing about what we know already and about the Symbolls here are my 2 tasks for this week :

Have you ever learnt about Advent? If so then what did you learn?

What did you learn from my blog?

Resilient Reading

This week for Reading we have been looking at The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas. I found this topic interesting because it helped me build a deeper understanding of  how reading can help us and how I can notice it in my day to day life. I had to create a book review to show that I understand what we were learning and how capable I am to do it.

Here is my Create:  Link

Question –  Do you know how to create a book review?

Real Cool RE

Kia ora and welcome to my blog post for this week today in RE we have been looking at the Gospel for this week. The goal that we had to do was to complete our questions about the gospel. What we firstly had to do was read the gospel given and after this we did the questions.

I think I did very well for this week but something I could work on is to improve my learning is that I would add more information about this weeks gospel and I would have read it over and over to get a better understanding of it here is the create is down below.

Question: what do you already about the gospel for the week?

Narritive Writing

Kia ora

This week in Writing we have been learning about Narrative Writing. We will be creating a book for some of the other kids in years 1 – 4.  We all will need to make a Fiction story for them.

My Learning Goal was: Plan effectively, where appropriate, using a variety of strategies.
Understand the purposes for writing and how to achieve those purposes.

I learnt that with Narrative writing comes alot of things that you need to include this a few things would be big and clear words, lots of pictures, bright colours, detailed pictures and some hard vocabulary so than kids can learn more words also it is very important to have your storyline and plot.
My creates this week in writing was: to first make our characters and setting on an AI generator and then our second was to plan our main parts in our book.

Here is my Create. I hope you like it.

What did you learn from my post? What new knowledge do you have about Narrative writing?

Novel Study

The Boy in Striped Pajamas

Since Week 2 in term 4. We have been learning about Different Novels,  this is important to do because it helps us to read more in our free time and also it makes you learn more about other things in life that has happened most of the novels we got to choose from were Fiction. We could choose from 5 books these were The boy in Striped Pajamas which I chose to read then we had Holes, The Eagle in the snow, The Book Thief and Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief’s.

We had goals for each week for The Boy in Striped Pajamas some are to: Identify information about the characters, setting and plot to predict what is going to happen in the story.Think critically about the story, discuss the author’s purpose when he introduces a character, setting or conflict.

I have accomplished these goals because I read the whole book and understand all of the questions provided. One of the key features of  the book is when the family  moves to Out – With  and it’s important because it is the start of when the book begins My favorite part of the book is when Bruno meets Shmuel because they then become friends and it is when the book gets more interesting. To show my learning I have created a deck of slides with all of the questions that we had to complete.

Here is my create: ( Click on the word link to access it or look at it on this blog) Link

One thing I really like about my create and slides is that I did all the questions quickly so then I could carry on with other work in reading. Next I can improve by adding more info about what happened in the book and why. I would personally love to do this again in the future!

What is something you already know about The boy in Striped Pajamas?

Curious Current Events✨

Hello and welcome back!

For a while now our class has been doing a thing called Current Events it is mainly about the news articles on Kiwi Kids New this means that we will get a deeper and kinder understanding of what is happening in our world this means that we can learn more and have a more positive impact on our communities. The main topics in the Kiwi kids News article are based on around 4 different things these are Sport, National, World Wide and of course my favourite place to go into is Odd Stuff.
Here is my current events slide with all the things that we needed to do. I had so much fun in the process of making it all and we all would have learned alot about or positive and negative impact that the world has for us.

Anyway this is my slide on current events.

What did you learn from my post? What new knowledge do you have about what is happening in our world?

Thank you for reading my blog!

Fairness at the Olympics?

This week for Reading and PBL combined we have been looking at Racism and fairness in the Olympics. I found this topic interesting because it helped me build a deeper understanding of fairness and how I can notice it in my day to day life.

My goals for this week are: Understand how groups of people have been treated unfairly over time. I think I have achieved these goals because I have done and completed my first task for the week in PBL. I had to create a Poster to show that I understood what we were learning and how capable I am to do it.

Here are the following questions:

Why is it important we stand up for groups of people that have been unfairly treated?

We can stand up and support people in need and try to help or donate for them.

How have the Olympic Games helped and hindered athletes of colour?

Because they are giving everyone a chance now and trying to help them and treat them fairly.

What is fairness and how can we promote it in sport?

We can treat all teams fairly and with kindness.

Wonderful Writing

Kia ora and welcome to my blog post for the past few weeks in Writing we have been looking at where the olympics should be hosted and why this would be such a great idea.

What we firstly had to do was pick our topic/country and after this we started to plan our writing we had to create 3 main parts the intro body and then lastly a conclusion.

The create we had to do for the past few weeks was to create a persuasive text on why it should be hosted in that certain country. I think I achieved the goals because I competed the text and I think I did an incredible job on it but something I could work on is to improve my learning is having more facts about it here is the create down below.
